The 7 Traits of Effective Leaders

7 Traits, 7 Arrows. Coincidence? I think not!
From our well-versed leadership aficionados in RLI, here is Chesapeake Region Regional Coordinator Bob Stallworth sharing the 7 Traits of Effective Leaders:
  1. … Make others feel important
  2. … Promote a vision
  3. … Follow the golden rule
  4. … Admit mistakes
  5. … Criticize others only in private
  6. … Stay close to the action
  7. … Make a game out of competition

Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker - Donna Hall

Donna Hall
We are please to have with us during the RLI Annual Meeting Opening Plenary Session, Friday, January 18, 2013 Development Consultant and Trainer Donna Hall from Raleigh as our Keynote Presenter.

Donna will lead the group on the topic of Shifting from Problems to Positivity: Appreciative Inquiry Leadership.  Improving production and performance is traditionally based on a deficiency model which asks, “What’s wrong?” The organization then eliminates what’s going badly. Appreciative Inquiry – its near-opposite – is an asset-based approach which asks “What’s going well?” The organization then increases these positive aspects. This shift has to come from optimistic leadership geared toward positive inquiry, open dialogue and collaboration which brings out the best in people.

In this participative presentation, Donna will explain the process of Appreciative Inquiry and how it can be implemented at your workplace and in other organizations.

Donna is President of Organizational Training Services, Inc. and an Associate with Raleigh Consulting Group with over 20 years as an organizational development consultant and trainer. She works nationally with a broad spectrum of clients from Fortune 500 companies to small businesses, government and non-profits. Her areas of expertise include leadership and team development, strategic planning, reorganizations, communication, conflict resolution and assessment delivery. She specializes in the role of facilitator at high-level meetings and retreats.

Donna is committed to volunteer work and has held a variety of positions with Cancer Centers of North Carolina, Hospice of Wake County, American Red Cross, Wake Educational Partnership and Rex Hospital.
